Welcome to Pick It Up!
The name of the site is based on
Luke 9:23, 24 where Jesus challenges
not only the disciples, but all of us, to deny ourselves and pick up our crosses - pick up where we are - and
follow Him.
What a huge challenge.
How often do you pick up your cross? How heavy is your cross? You
say it's pretty heavy?...Jesus had to carry his cross to Calvary's hill with ALL of OUR sins nailed to it....certainly
not a light load.
Is your cross too heavy to follow Jesus? Are you willing to deny yourself,
that is - cease making yourself the object of your life and actions by turning your focus to the Lord? Are
you willing to suffer - even die - for the Lord's sake?
A true cross-bearing soul will answer yes.
I, by no means, have mastered this profound call, but I
yearn for the day when I no longer drag my cross behind me, but fully carry it right next to Jesus. Throughout this
site, I will share my thoughts, faith, feelings, and confusions of life and this world. If you find that you can relate
to anything, let me know. I apologize in advance if I offend anyone, my intentions are far from that, but please let
me know if I do.
